Why office-based surgery (OBS)?
The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) business is a rapidly growing sector within healthcare, yet in many facilities, ophthalmologists are being marginalized in favor of other specialties. Many surgeries that ophthalmologists are accustomed to performing in hospitals or ambulatory surgery centers can be performed safely and economically in an office-based surgery environment.
